For those of you that don’t know in addition to going coaster crazy, last September, I joined Goodlife Fitness. Not my 1st attempt at working fitness into my lifestyle it has been the most successful. I started taking the fitness classes they offer, (Mostly the Lesmills ones for more info see http://www.lesmills.com/ ) I can say that I have enjoyed them a great deal. I am now up to about 5 a week, including; Body Pump, Body Step, and RPM (Which is a killer spin class).
I joined the closest club, the Argyle Mall location, which in my opinion would be the ghetto Goodlife, why ghetto? Well it is old, they equipment is comprised of castoffs from the other clubs, the sound system in the group fitness center is often skipping, not working or generally just craptastic. I can certainly go to any other Goodlife in town, but I don’t want to. The people at my club are the best the instructors are amazing, the other people in the classes are friendly and welcoming, and I really enjoy the whole experience. On occasion I will head to the “Flagship club” at Galleria Mall downtown, and I will be faced with snotty people and lots of attitude, nice equipment, but really to me a bike is a bike and a treadmill a treadmill.
I have enjoyed the classes the most, I have become stronger, leaner, and they have helped me a great deal with sleeping problems brought on by my evil grave shifts at work. My co-workers think I am crazy for taking a fitness class after I am done a 10 hour shift but, it makes me sleep like a baby. It has like the theme parks has helped me deal with stress which is a great benefit, so while I don’t think joining a gym is great for everyone, I know it has been great for me!
It's true that you are doing well at the gym but I doubt anything will ever make you like the dorkstep classes!
